Don’t Be a Hacker’s Low Hanging Fruit! Common ERP Security Gaps

Hackers constantly search for easy targets. ERP systems often manage valuable private
data that is only protected by weak controls. Expanding complexity, growing numbers
of users and partners and rapidly emerging exploits make security an elusive target.
In this session, you'll learn about the most common security gaps found in ERP
systems, why those gaps really matter, and how to close them to make your ERP
system less likely to the be the next big victim.

    12:00 - 1:00pm            Break for Lunch

    1:00 - 2:00                     SESSION #3:

    FedEx/UPS/USPS Integration & Shipping Compliance

Rapid deployment of FedEx/UPS/USPS QAD Interface to QAD while following all
                                         QAD data
integrity rules. The interface reduces the need to rekey Address, Account
                                         Number, Email Address
and other client specified fields from QAD into the Shipping
                                         system.  Shipping compliance
automatically checks the both Sales Order Maintenance
                                         and Pending Invoice Maintenance, based
on the Ship-To Address, restricting the
sale/shipment of restricted items to restricted addresses.
Speaker:    JOHN GRAHAM - Strategic Information Group

    2:00 - 2:15                   Break / Visit with Vendors

    2:15 - 3:15                       SESSION #4:
                                      Location, Location, Location!

Learn how to get the most out of QAD locations to assist with inventory control.
Topics covered include: location codes, status code, effects on MRP, allocation,
special locations and what happens to the status when inventory is moved. We
                                            will
discuss the set up and use of locations and how the different settings can
affect how the system works. Although EE and AE have added new functions we
will concentrate of the basic information that would even be available in SE
                                                     Speaker:    PHILL NORREY - Progress

    3:15 - 3:30                   Break / Visit with Vendors

    3:30 - 4:30                     SESSION #5:
                                      QAD Excelerator & Demo

This session will demonstrate how to use QAD’s QXtend Excelerator tool. The
Excelerator tool allows users to query data from the QAD application, import the data
into Microsoft Excel, make changes, and post the changes back to QAD. This session
will provide attendees with a live demo in which we will do some basic configuration
of QXtend, build an Excelerator template, query data, load data, and build QXtend

Business Objects to support Excelerator. While this session will have a technical focus,
functional users will also gain insight on how Excelerator may be used in their
                                         environments.

Speaker:    JAMES BLANKENSHIP – Logan Consulting
